Friends of Love

This is a non governmental organisation which was set up by a young Ugandan woman by the name Sarah Mukasa in 1998.

About the organisation

Friends of Love an organization that does take care of the needy street kids in Uganda,It has sponsors from America and Italy. It has been running under a hardship of getting funds from different places but thanks God that some volunteers have managed to make it stand.

Members:

It has kids that range from the ages of 6-18 and right now it has 200 kids that have no parents and have been suffering on the streets of Kampala and surrounding areas.

Aims

It has an objective of seeing to it that kids have their rights and education in Uganda. And that kids are not abused in one way or another.

Education

Of the 200 kids, we have managed to send only 3 back to school. And one of them Mukasa who was the first kid to be picked up from the streets of Kampala is in school now and doing very well. But the rest of the kids have not yet attended school yet because of lack of funds.

Clothings

We have managed to get used clothing from America, England and Italy where some of our sponsors are. We would like anybody to help us in case you have clothes that your kids do not use. It will of course make a difference. Any assistance given will be highly appreciated.

Location

The organisation is having a house that is run by Mrs Mukasa and Mr Robert in Mukono and some rooms are being rented from people in order to care for these poor kids. It is located a bit outside Kampala a few km outside the city center. We are planning to build our own house in the future, we have a big part of land about 3 hours drive from the capital.

Land

The organisation has a big part of land in a place called Sese Island it is a really nice place to build a homage for kids. So our plan is to divide this island into two parts. One to make a camping site and one to build a homage.

Camping site

This land has a very good view facing the Lake Victoria and capable of camping up to 300 people a night. Those of you who are planning to visit Uganda should visit this island. These are the plans we have so anybody interested should feel free to contact some of our volunteers in your countries.

Volunteers

For volunteers anybody any where is most welcome with any idea about anything. Feel free to send your request to us, or our volunteers in Norway. You can get more information about the organisation through the Uganda community in Norway.

Special thanks

This goes to Mr Copperfield and Mrs Rebecca , for their tireless help and carriage. Uncle George for the good advice and mutual support.
